The Prosper Ladies Association held the annual Holiday Market Place Friday and Saturday with a host of vendors.

The event was raising funds for the PLA to be able to provide Christmas gifts for less fortunate children in the Prosper area.

One component of the event is the Angel Tree which allows individuals to sponsor a child to help that child have a fun Christmas that, otherwise, might not occur. “We are expecting to serve more than 500 students for Christmas this year,” Smith said. “We will go out after Thanksgiving to get these gifts delivered.”

That distribution day turns into a huge event of its own as volunteers from across Prosper come together to deliver gifts in all areas of the Prosper Independent School District.

In case readers have missed the Angel Tree at the Market Place event, there is still an opportunity to pitch in. Angel Trees will be located at PAC Fitness and Gentle Creek Country Club as well as churches around the town of Prosper.
