The McKinney Police Department promoted six members this week.
At a special ceremony Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall, the following officially enhanced their ranks:
Matt Kasmerski was promoted to deputy chief; Tom Macri is now lieutenant; and Michael Best, Todd Lowry, Brent Shropshire and Jimmy Thomas became sergeants.
All will report to the Patrol division except Kasmerski, who will lead Professional Services.
“With McKinney’s unprecedented growth, the McKinney Police Department strives to provide the very best for our citizens,” said Police Chief Greg Conley. “We are proud of our newly promoted officers and look forward to the contributions they will make in our community.”
