HERE ARE THE FACTS.
I’ve always fought for McKinney taxpayers, protected property rights, and pushed for responsible growth. Don’t fall for the political spin—watch this video and get the truth.
Let’s set the record straight. My opponent sent out a text message with false accusations that I’ve supported policies that hurt McKinney. These claims are inaccurate and misrepresent the facts.
I’ll address each of these allegations directly and explain the truth behind the legislation I supported.
❌ FALSE CLAIM #1: SB 1152
The Franchise Fee Bill – Hurting McKinney’s Revenue. The mayor claims that SB 1152, which eliminated duplicate taxes on telecommunications services, resulted in massive revenue loss for McKinney, forcing taxpayers to cover the cost with increased property taxes.

❌ FALSE CLAIM #2: HB 2439
A Developer Giveaway that Eliminated Building Material Standards.
The opponent claims that HB 2439, which prevented cities from regulating building materials beyond what is required by the International Building Code, was a giveaway to developers and has resulted in substandard housing and commercial development in McKinney.
✅ THE TRUTH
HB 2439 was about promoting affordable housing and reducing construction costs, which is critical for families looking to buy homes in McKinney. This legislation did not eliminate building standards but prevented cities from imposing additional, unnecessary regulations that drove up construction costs. It allowed for more competition among vendors and made housing more affordable by reducing these costs. The result? More affordable homes for McKinney residents. The bill passed 124-21 with broad bipartisan support, and it was specifically designed to help lower costs, not to hurt the quality of construction.
❌ FALSE CLAIM #3: SB 6
A Bill that Undermines City Control over Growth.
The mayor claims that SB 6, which ended "Involuntary Annexation," stripped cities like McKinney of their ability to manage growth and resulted in the destruction of cities.
✅ THE TRUTH
SB 6 ended the practice of "Involuntary Annexation," which allowed cities to annex property without the consent of landowners. This law empowered property owners outside city limits by ensuring that they cannot be annexed or taxed without their consent. It was a win for property rights and local control. Far from undermining McKinney’s ability to manage growth, this law simply protected landowners from unjust annexation and taxation. It passed with strong bipartisan support—116-26—and was a victory for property rights, not a blow to McKinney’s future.

I’m running to be YOUR next Mayor of Mckinney, And I will always fight for low taxes, full transparency, and to be your voice.
