In his first day as a captain with Princeton Fire Department, Ben Harp stayed busy as the department was called for seven emergencies.

Harp, 34, is the third of three captains hired by PFD this year as the service makes is transition from a volunteer to paid department. His first day on the job was June 27.

The fire captain is not new to the department, though. He has been a member for 11 years and served as a lieutenant for several years.
