Do you have crutches, medical boots or canes in your closet or garage? The Melissa Rotary Club is collecting these and other mobility devices to be used for area citizens and for shipment to Africa. Participating in a project with the Salvation Army, these items will be distributed to those in need in the area and some will be sent to Crutches 4 Africa.

Donations may include any mobility devices such as crutches, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, boots, inflatable casts, prosthetics, etc. Additionally, donations of baby joggers and bike trailers will also be accepted as these items may be repurposed to assist with medical mobility needs.

Items are needed by Friday, April 15.

Donations will be accepted at First National Bank of Trenton in Melissa is located at 1218 Sam Rayburn Hwy in Melissa. All other First National Bank of Trenton locations, including Trenton, Leonard, Bonham and Farmersville will also accept items.

If you cannot access a bank location, send an email to or call 972-850-6765 and a Rotarian will make arrangements to pick up your item(s).
